Lifelong Health Guarantee against Genetic illness
Please read the following agreement. If you have any questions, please ask for clarification. To the best of my knowledge, this kitten is in good health at the time of delivery.
The buyer has 14 working days to have the kitten checked by a licensed veterinarian. Failure to do so will void the health guarantee. You must email me to inform me that this has been done. If the veterinarian determines that the kitten is unsound, it can be returned within three days for a refund or replacement at the breeder’s discretion. The breeder is responsible for return transportation costs. The return must be accompanied by a letter from the examining veterinarian stating the specific health issue of the kitten.
The breeder will not replace or refund for reasons unrelated to health, such as allergies, mortality, landlord’s disapproval, family disagreement, or any other non-health-related problems. The breeder is also not responsible for illnesses caused by neglect, injury, choking, poisoning, etc. There is no warranty or guarantee on the disposition, lifespan, size, or breeding quality of any kitten.
The breeder will not be liable for any expenses, including veterinary bills. If a licensed veterinarian diagnoses the kitten with a life-threatening genetic defect present since birth, the breeder will replace the kitten within two years from the date of purchase. No refund or replacement will be made for a deceased kitten until a necropsy is performed by an accredited institution. All expenses for the necropsy will be paid by the breeder. Retained testicles and hernias are not covered by this guarantee.
The buyer must contact the breeder immediately upon discovering a genetic defect. Delay in doing so voids the guarantee. The breeder has the right to have the kitten examined by their own veterinarian at this time.
This guarantee is null and void in case of evidence of abuse or neglect, or if the buyer fails to complete vaccinations, worming, and kitten checks with a qualified veterinarian. Proof of maintenance must be provided upon request. No guarantee is given for any type of worm, coccidiosis, or giardia. These parasites are common in kittens and can be contracted from the environment. The kitten has been regularly wormed until possession, but it is the buyer’s responsibility to continue worming and checking for parasites. The kitten should be wormed every two weeks until placed on a monthly heartworm preventative (required). Internal flea preventatives are not accepted and will void the guarantee.
The buyer agrees that if they are unable to properly care for the kitten at any time, they must contact the breeder. The breeder will have the first choice to either take the kitten back or assist the buyer in finding a suitable home for the kitten.
The buyer authorizes the breeder to communicate directly with the buyer’s veterinarian regarding any medical conditions or concerns related to the kitten.
The buyer agrees to notify the breeder of any changes of address during the kitten’s lifetime.
